CMYO Bylaws: Purpose and Policies

"Recognizing that the success of the CMYO is dependent on the support and success of the area public, and private school instrumental programs, CMYO expects public and private school instrumental program participation when it is available.

CMYO provides an opportunity for orchestral and chamber music performance and is not intended to replace those programs offered by schools."

Families participating in the Central Minnesota Youth Orchestra participate in a fair share program. Rather than paying tuition, families are shown the expense involved to make the program successful and asked to make a pledge for the year. Advantages of this system include the opportunity for families to pay based on their financial ability without dealing with scholarship applications and the opportunity for families to count their fair share payment as a charitable contribution on their tax return.  The Fair Share Program is a donation.  Everyone who qualifies for an ensemble is accepted, regardless of financial commitment.
