“This activity is made possible through a grant from the Central Minnesota Arts Board, thanks to funds provided by the McKnight Foundation.”
Welcome to the Central Minnesota Youth Orchestra!

The program offers youth musicians four levels of string ensembles with weekly rehearsals and concerts through the school calendar year.

CMYO is open for new audition and returning student submissions for next year's season!  Please click on the registration link and start the process.

If you are a new family and are unsure which ensemble to choose for the audition, please contact Michael Zellgert at michael.zellgert@cmyo.org

Returning students do not need to re-audition for the same ensemble.  However, if you are looking to move up, an audition is required.

Once you have submitted your registration, a link will be sent to you for uploading your online audition.  Arrangements can be made for families who prefer an in-person audition.

Alasdair Fraser & Natalie Hass

CMYO WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITY!  (provided by the College of St Benedict Arts)

We have been invited to have a workshop with the world-renown Scottish Duo, Alasdar and Natalie!

The musical partnership between consummate performer Alasdair Fraser, "the Michael Jordan of Scottish fiddling", and brilliant Californian cellist Natalie Haas spans the full spectrum between intimate chamber music and ecstatic dance energy.

Over the last 20 years of creating a buzz at festivals and concert halls across the world, they have truly set the standard for fiddle and cello in traditional music.

They continue to thrill audiences internationally with their virtuosic playing, their near-telepathic understanding and the joyful spontaneity and sheer physical presence of their music.
